As Chief Executive Officer of Velocity Health Group, Chris Perkins is dedicated to creating an environment where world-class care and exceptional customer service go hand in hand. His leadership is guided by a simple yet profound question: “Would this be acceptable to my wife and me if we were placing our own child at Velocity?” This principle shapes every decision he makes, ensuring that families receive the highest standard of care and support.
Chris began his career in behavioral health in 1991, working at an AIDS hospice in Tacoma, Washington, before joining his first residential program in the Nevada desert. Over the past three decades, he has operated, managed, and led more adolescent residential treatment centers than anyone else in the United States.
With a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in adolescent behavioral health, Chris founded Velocity with a singular mission: to professionalize the behavioral health workforce. By elevating the standards of care and leadership in the field, Velocity delivers on its promise of “healing at the speed of excellence.”
Outside of his work at Velocity, Chris is a devoted husband and father to three children, ranging in age from 14 to 30. A lifelong learner and avid reader, he finds inspiration in collaborating with elite leaders and innovators across various industries. Chris’s passion for growth, both personally and professionally, fuels his commitment to transforming the landscape of adolescent behavioral health.
